M. Kate Chaffee
Since 1990, Kate has practiced law in a variety of settings in both the private and public sectors. She has been involved in all phases of complex litigation, primarily in cases involving antitrust, toxic tort and product liability claims. Her experiences include serving as national litigation coordinating counsel for a multi-national rail equipment manufacturer for whom she also provided business process analyses, litigation risk assessment and proactive risk-minimization counseling. Kate also has significant experience managing large-scale discovery projects. As the manager of document analysis at her former firm, Kate developed the firm’s in-house document analysis center, managing a large staff of permanent and contract document analysts and overseeing the department’s development and implementation of best practices for document analysis and review. Prior to joining RDRW, Kate was an attorney with Oppenheimer, Wolff and Donnelly, manager of document analysis for Faegre & Benson, and worked for the State of Minnesota as an administrative law judge and counsel to various legislative committees.
