Karen O. Hourigan
Karen assists clients with electronic discovery and information management challenges both pro-actively (in designing policies and processes) and in response to specific litigation or investigation needs. Karen provides legal advice to clients regarding electronic discovery and information management practices in the pre-litigation context as well as after litigation has commenced. In the pre-litigation setting, Karen has developed enterprise plans for preserving and collecting information, and aided assessments of technology solutions. Karen has also worked on projects to address the management or disposal of legacy or orphan data. Karen has extensive litigation and trial experience, and has counseled clients regarding preservation, collection and production of electronically stored information. She has experience on both offensive and defensive sides of spoliation claims, and has also worked on matters involving regulatory and compliance issues. She also speaks at CLE programs on issues and solutions related to electronic discovery. Prior to joining RDRW, Karen was an associate at Jones Day and law clerk to the Hon. David Warner Hagen, United States District Court for the District of Nevada.
